Bike Track

Harry & Ashton —

Hi, our names are Harry and Ashton. We have been working in an Inquiry group along with Cole, Sammy and Jesse. We started working on an idea we had back in Term one which was to create a bike track around the school for people to be able to use when they are coming and going from school. Recently we partnered with Te Kakano in order to work together on this big idea, as they were working on the same idea as a part of their Deep Learning Inquiry.   At this stage the bike track will not be used during morning tea and lunch times but it could be used as a brain break during class time, with your teacher.

Te Kakano and our group have completed a lot of research and thinking in order to develop this idea and come up with a solution to people riding their scooters and bikes in the school grounds. Our group participated in the Challenge Team Market Day where we sold toffee apples which were really popular. This money is going towards the cost of creating this bike track.

The bike track will be available to be used from the beginning of next term and it would be great to see everyone using it. We have all worked really hard to try and make this happen and would like to thank everyone for their support. A special thanks goes to Allprint as they are offering their services to us in order to create some great signs with safety rules, that are going to go up along the path.  Mr Hoff and Mrs Trillo will be erecting these signs during the holidays as well as painting stencils of bikes and scooters along the track, to show you where to go.

We hope you all enjoy the path! Look out for it next term.
