Tracey Young —

Written by Jake and Tom

At Clearview we have many clubs that everyone can enjoy.

Like art club for people who are very creative and chess club for people who like strategy games and a challenge. There are many other clubs like coding for people who like technology, ski club for people that like the great outdoors. Drama for people that like to act out!

We have interviewed some of the amazing teachers that ran the clubs first is art club ran by Miss Dainter.

So Miss Dainter why did you start Art club?

I started art club because many kids like doing art and I wanted kids to learn different art forms and it started off as just come and I will show you a specific art form then I found out that kids like doing their own thing.

When did you start Art club?

I started Art club last year so it’s not the first year of running art club.

And finally what is your favourite art form?

My favourite art forms are sculptures and watercolours.

Now we will have an interview about the chess club with Mr Goertz.

Why did you start Chess Club?

I started Chess club because a student and I started having regular competitions together. I got into chess in year 7 and at my high school so I decided to make a chess club here.

Are strategic games your favourite sort of game?

Well, I sort of like jigsaw puzzles too but it really depends on the game.

Have you always wanted to run a Chess club?

No, I just started to think about it this year.

And our last question is would you rather chess or checkers?

I would rather chess than checkers.

Go and see Mr Goertz next year if you would like to have a game of chess!
