WOW Writing in 2019

Tracey Young —

By Oliver McArdle Year 4

This year in writing we have covered many interesting topics. From writing about the bottle flip experiment to our monster creations, we have explored many types of writing. The most memorable piece of writing for me was our water slide writing pieces. During these writing sessions, we had the opportunity to design our own water slide which added to the enjoyment!

Another fun writing experience was when we had to describe our future self. I wrote about becoming a famous and rich football player. My dream is to play for Liverpool as this is where my Dad’s Dad comes from. I would buy my mum a farm with all the animals she wants. My other classmates wrote about being in the Crusaders and their future houses. It was cool to find out what everyone wants to do and be in the future!

For free writing, we have the opportunity to choose whether we finish a previous piece of work off or we can start another of our own choice. This is the time when we can write about anything we want, people are really focused and creative.

Monster writing involved us creating our own creatures. We had to describe our monster using adjectives and similes. After we had written our descriptions, we partnered up and they had to draw our monster based on our description.
