Kia ora Parents / Caregivers / Whanau

Kia ora koutou and welcome to Term 4, especially to our new students and families to Clearview.  We have begun the term with an increased roll of 751 students across 32 Homebases and we still have a large number of students pre-enrolled to start before the end of the year.  It's fantastic to be back and to see the children return to school full of enthusiasm about the busy term ahead.

There are a number of exciting school-wide events planned for Term 4, so please make a note of the upcoming events section of this newsletter.  A couple of things I wanted to highlight include:

Nora's Army Auction Night - 7.00-10.00pm, at Pemberton in Prebbleton.  There is a large group of parents working tirelessly behind the scenes to pull this event together to raise much-needed funds to help Nora and her family get the cancer treatment she needs over in the US.

Teacher Only Day - Monday 18 November, school will be closed to allow our teaching staff to meet to plan ahead for 2020.

Clearview Twilight Picnic - Wednesday 11 December from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.  All children, staff and families are warmly invited to our school grounds for a picnic dinner.  We will have some food trucks here and a live band to provide entertainment.  It will be a great to time catch up with each other and our staff.

End of Year Assemblies:  Wednesday 18 December. This year we are holding three End of Year Assemblies.  Year 1-3 @ 9:15am, Year 4-7 @ 11:00am and Year 8 Graduation @ 7:00pm.

We are currently refining the plans for 2020 and I'm pleased to advise that we have completed an in-depth recruitment process of appointing new teaching staff for next year.  We are now working on the makeup of each team and power team of teachers.  As you can imagine, this is a complex and time-consuming task - but very important nonetheless.  To help us with planning for next year, we would really appreciate knowing if you intend to enrol a child (or children) at Clearview in 2020, or perhaps intend to withdraw your child (or children) at the end of this year.

Having an accurate picture of expected numbers really helps us organise the school.  I would be very appreciative if you could take a brief moment to contact the office team to let them know if there any expected enrolments or withdrawals for 2020.  Many thanks.

On the health and safety front - it's Term 4, which means that sunhats are compulsory while outside during the school day.  Parents/Caregivers, could you please check that your child has their Clearview sunhat with them as they leave home each morning as they will require this each day, no matter the weather.  We appreciate your support with this, please ensure it is named.

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a great long weekend!
