The Chase

The cold wind brushes against my coat of soft fur, as I start to dig my burrow beneath the blanket of powdery snow. I hear the quiet sound of pawprints, getting closer and closer by the second. I sense danger! I sprint through the open space of white, leaving nothing but footprints behind. Anxious to get away, I start dodging trees, side-stepping, slipping and sliding on a patch of icy snow. He is getting closer now, and I start to get really worried. At the same time I get faster and faster! I keep sprinting along the never-ending world of white, when I spy something that doesn’t look right. As I get closer, I realise what it is. It’s my rabbit burrow! I hesitate for a moment before I realise what to do! I dive for it. I score! As I scramble around in my burrow, I see the unhappy predator staring back at me.
