2018 Star City to Surf

Kent McDonald —

The Christchurch City to Surf is happening! On 18 March, the Star City to Surf event will be taking place between Pioneer Stadium and Ferrymead historic park. At Clearview, we have a group of students in Years 5-8 who are keen to participate in this event and they will be starting their training very soon. The City to Surf have great fundraising deals for schools - $15 rather than $25 for tickets and $5 of that goes back to the school! Permission slips for Year 5-8 students are available from the office and please do not bring in any money until permission slips have been signed and completed. If you would like to enter yourself, your child (Years 5-8) or a friend, please pay $15 per ticket at the office by Tuesday 8 March. I will collect all entry tickets and hand them out to all the students.

Transport to and from the event will be in private cars. If you would like to arrange to carpool with other families, that is a great idea as it can get pretty congested on the roads around the finish line. During the event, children will either run with their friends, in family groups or by themselves (depending on how you would like them to compete).

Please note: This is a family-friendly event and not a school event. Parents will be responsible for ensuring that their child/ren enter the race at the correct time, complete the event safely and have made arrangements to meet them at the finish line.

Please see http://www.city2surf.co.nz/ for further information. Please note there is no refund for unused tickets or if the event is cancelled.

Thank you
