EPro8 Semi Finals @ Clearview

Angela Scott —

On Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 June we hosted one of the Canterbury EPro8 Challenge Semi Final events here at Clearview. Read on to find out more about our awesome successes...

After three of our teams qualified for the semi finals, we hosted this exciting event here at Clearview on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th June.

EPro8 stands for Engineer, Problem Solve and Innov8. Children had four challenges to choose from, with optional 'add ons' for each challenge to earn extra points over a 2.5 hour time period.

Congratulations to our three teams on a very exciting event. Our Year 7/8 team (Clearview Cranium Crushers) came 8th in their event out of 12 teams. One of our Year 5/6 teams (Kea Kids) had a 'quick fire' elimination round after being in a tie with three teams, coming out of this with an extremely respectable 4th place out of 11 teams. Our other Year 5/6 team, Team Tui, won their event and are now going through to the finals - wow! Huge high fives to Lucca, Molly, James and Isabel.  These four will now compete at the finals at Heaton Intermediate School on Wednesday 5th July - good luck!

We are so proud of all children who have taken part in this exciting event. Their creativity, ability to step out with confidence and collaborate with others has been brilliant to see! Congratulations all!
