What’s the Word?

Across the school we are working on developing our Digital Literacy vocabulary. These words however are not limited to Digital Literacy alone and can be used across many curriculum areas and incorporated into our daily lives.

Let’s introduce you to the word ‘DEBUG’.

It’s got nothing to do with the pesky things in the garden, but about finding errors and fixing them. For digital literacy it involves finding an error in a code and trying to get it to run properly without glitches.

In Maths we spend time ‘debugging’ an equation to find the correct answer to a problem, for Reading we try to ‘debug’ words we are not sure how to read, and we can debug our writing by finding spelling errors and correcting them, and checking if our sentences make sense.
