Kia ora, talofa lava, greetings

So far, 2017 has proven to be another action packed year and things don't seem to be slowing down any time soon.   As a school, we endeavour to offer as many diverse opportunities to our students as possible, both inside and outside the classroom and it's a pleasure to see our children get involved.  One of our new upcoming opportunities is a Year 5-8 Production which we look forward to bringing you all in Term 3.  It's called "Porridge" and during our last assembly, Ms Soal showed a glimpse of what Porridge is all about to the children.  This was met with much excitement.

You can appreciate that productions are no easy feat and they require a lot of creativity, collaboration, time, money and skills, to say the least.  It maybe hard to believe but planning and auditions for our production have already started under the leadership of an amazing group of teachers.

I applaud the children who have decided to audition for a role in Porridge and wish them all well for their involvement in this exciting school event.  As more details about what, when, where, who and how the productions will be staged are confirmed, we will let you know.

Mufti Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow is our first charity fundraiser organised by our Student Kaitiaki which is a mufti day to raise funds for Relay for Life.  We had a number of our staff members, children and parents participate in the Relay for Life event last weekend here in Rolleston and they are certainly a charity worth supporting.  Children can come to school in their active wear tomorrow in exchange for a gold coin donation.

Staffing News

Next Tuesday, we will bid Mrs Katie Newell from HB35 farewell as she is expecting her first child, due very soon.  Katie will be taking Maternity Leave for a year and we hope to have her back with us again in Term 2, 2018.  We will certainly miss Katie and wish her and husband Lance all the very best for their exciting times ahead.

Therefore, Miss Melissa Smart will teach in HB35 alongside Mrs Lauren Moir.  Melissa will be visiting today to meet the children and staff and we look forward to welcoming her to the Clearview team.

Miss Adele Gardyne who is teaching in HB 18 is sadly leaving us at the end of this term as well.  Adele is heading south to Queenstown to be closer to family and to work at Shotover Primary School.  Adele has been an amazing member of our staff throughout her time here at Clearview and we wish her well for her bright future in education.

Miss Cheree Cowsill will be joining the Red Sparks team from Term 2 onwards and it was great to have her visit the team last week as part of the important transition process.

Happy Easter!

We have 1 final week of school left for Term 1 and I want to thank you all for your continued support you provide us. Enjoy the upcoming  Easter holiday break and I look forward to seeing you all next term.
