Message from the Principal

Rob Rush —

Kia ora Parents / Caregivers / Whanau

Following the democratic process that was very well managed by our Returning Officer (Susie Meares), Clearview Primary has a newly elected Board of Trustees.  I take my hat off the six parents who put their names forward to be a Board member and acknowledge that it's a tough ask for people to put themselves out there.  We were incredibly lucky to have such top quality people to choose from, so thank you to them all for accepting the nomination to be a BOT member.

It's fantastic to have some experienced and some new faces on the Board and I'm sure we will maximise the opportunity to work collegially to ensure that our amazing school is well governed for another three year term.

Some staffing news: with the impending departure of Miss van Looy and Miss McKessar from the Engage Team, I'm thrilled to announce that we have successfully appointed two new teachers to replace them.  Firstly, Miss Lisa Barr will take over from Anita van Looy in HB13.  Lisa is currently teaching at Merrin School.

Miss Valerie Humrich will step into HB12 as their new teacher.  Valerie recently graduated from Canterbury University and has been teaching in a variety of schools in town.  Both Lisa and Valerie will be fantastic additions to our teaching team and I extend a very warm welcome to them both.

Reminder,  next Monday 24th June, we are holding a LINC-ED Parent Information Evening from 7:00pm - 8:00pm in our library.  This will be a great opportunity to learn more about how to log in, navigate the parent portal, interpret your child's report and to ask any questions about this new school management system.

This will be an interactive session, so if you have a mobile device such as a laptop, iPad or tablet, bring it along with you.

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a relaxing weekend.

Nga mihi nui
