It’s Moments Like These 

It's moments like these … you need patience. Patience because turning a mintie wrapper into a piece of string is very fiddly and sometimes hard.

The boardroom was mostly silent but there was still the rustling of wrappers from the anxious competitors. Selected Year 5/6 students had the opportunity to compete in the annual Mintie Challenge at Clearview Primary. How am I meant to make a long piece of string with this waxy paper? The strict rules were you weren’t allowed to use scissors, no glue or sticky tape, and once it ripped then you’re out.

Before you start you have to carefully unwrap the sticky lolly but also make sure you don’t rip the waxy wrap so you don’t end your competing time straight away. The nervousness doesn’t help, trying not to rip the paper but also feeling excited that you get to eat a lolly and compete in an awesome new challenge.

“3, 2, 1, GO!” Mrs Young shouted. The concentration was intense. About a minute later someone was eliminated. She started yelling, “Nooo!”

Everyone started laughing nervously like they were secretly saying oh no I’m going to get out soon to themselves. Paige is out! Only 6 competitors left.

When everyone is done and we have to measure them. As soon as I see my other rivals I know that I haven’t won.

If I ever take part in this challenge again, I am definitely going to try and win and face the other winners. My strategy to win will be to try and do it thinner and focus really well so that I won’t come third, I’ll come number one.

Afghanistan is a very dangerous place to go, there are bombs, guns and lots of thieves. The capital of Afghanistan is Kabul it’s known for its gardens. The population of Afghanistan is 38,928,346. Afghanistan currency is afghani rupee. Afghanistan’s climate is dry hot summer and cold winters.

Afghanistan traditional food are ASHA, jalebi, bolani, lamb kebab, rice qabuli Palawan, doogh and showa. Showa is a type of soup it has vegetables and a type of meat it is very easy.
