Over the Christmas break Sophie Mercer competed in the South Island Colgate Athletics Championship.

Sophie was very successful, competing in five events she got four medals. This is a huge competition consisting of athletes from South Island and Australia.

Placings as follows for 12 year old girls:

Gold -100 metre sprint champion 

Silver - girls 4 x 100 metre relay 

Silver - mixed medley relay team 

Bronze - 200 metre
