Lions Speech Competition

Clearview —

On Monday night (21st of September) we went to a Lions Speech competition held at West Melton School.

We competed against 14-16 other schools around the Ellesmere region, the competition was very intense. Each school nominated one Yr7 and one Yr8 to write a persuasive speech about a topic of their choice.

Jack wrote about VAR (video assistant referee) technology in football and how it hinders the game. Vincent wrote about giving students the right to vote.

Each speech had to be between 2:30 and 3 minutes so we needed to get straight to the point and expand on that. Overall it was a great experience for us two and we would recommend it to any upcoming seniors.

Thank you to Miss Ryan for helping us prepare for the competition and supporting us.
