Te Kura o Mārama - Clearview Primary were invited by the Selwyn District Council to participate in a Feature Pole Project

These poles are to be concreted permanently around Te Ara Ātea - Rolleston’s new library, community, and culture facility on Tennyson Street.

SDC delivered us a huge 3m long wooden telegraph pole and we were allowed to paint it up to represent our school and area. We chose the Selwyn landscape with its braided rivers, plains and our clear view to the alps. We were also able to include our new Kowhaiwhai motif which represents all of our learning teams here at Te Kura o Mārama. 

A huge thank you to Miss Sarah Carruthers for heading this project and to her art group for getting it underway. Sarah has spent many hours sketching, painting and touching up the pole so that it was ready for collection this week. We think it looks magnificent!
