Kororā o Mārama - Penguin of Clearview

Clearview —

We have now selected elements from student artwork to include in the final Kōrorā o Mārama design and started to transfer this to our 100cm x 70cm plaster-cast penguin. We are thrilled with how it is looking so far!

We couldn’t believe the high caliber of design and the effort our students went to with this project. This made it incredibly difficult for us to select aspects of student work to include. We would like to make special mention of the huge commitment all learning teams made but in particular, that of Team Tiramaroa. Nearly every single student in Year 7-8 created a piece of art that was well considered and presented to meet the brief provided.

Many students will see aspects of their work reflected in the final piece of art. However, we selected the following students who have significant elements of their design included:

The Senior Students who supported this project will be collecting these students from their learning spaces at different times on Friday. They will be given the opportunity to engage with the painting of our Kororā o Mārama.

Feel free to have a look at some of the designs students submitted in the photos. We are excited to share a description of our final design and completed images of Kororā o Mārama in the next school newsletter.
