Rob Rush —

Kia ora, talofa lava, greetings everyone.

Yesterday's 'Celebration of Learning' was a truly positive and rewarding way to end a busy term.  Homebases were brimming with excited children and proud parents and there was such a diverse range of learning on display which kept us captivated.  Over the past 10 weeks, teams have been undertaking a mixture of inquiry based learning topics and this concluded with the children sharing their newly found knowledge with each other and our parent community.  Wondering around the school during the Celebration of Learning was a real pleasure.  It was obvious how eager the children were to share their learning and I could see just how engaged the parents were.

Furthermore, it was a terrific opportunity for parents and teachers to chat informally, these opportunities go a long way in strengthening our partnerships between home and school.  There was a real buzz!  Well done and thank you to all children and teachers for your work and preparation for this showcase of learning and especially to all of those parents who were able to make it along.

Tomorrow, Term 2 draws to a close and we will be saying a temporary farewell to our Associate Principal Mrs Angela Scott  who will be taking leave to have a baby.  We all wish her the very best as she ventures into parenthood for the first time.  With Ange's departure, we welcome in Mr Kent McDonald who will be acting AP while Ange is away.  Caitlin Buttle will be leading Team Challenge for the rest of this year and we welcome Caitlin into her new role starting next term.

I wish you all a happy and safe holiday break and I look forward to seeing everyone back again for the start of Term 3 - Monday 24 July.
