Ski Racing Wednesday 11th September

Clearview —

Yesterday a team of four Clearview students competed in ski racing up at Porters Ski Area. The team consisted of Griff Roycroft, Indi McKinnon, Samuel Hendry & Max Parkinson. We had an amazing day up in the mountains, below is more about our racing experience. Thank you to Mrs Davidson for organising us all and being the best supporter.

Indi’s point of view

When I was shoving my boots on, Tiff (Griff’s Mum) came running in telling me that I was racing today! My mind started to race.

As I stepped in line my heart slowly started to pound.

Finally I was at the starting point. ‘’Three, two, one’’ said the starter. I began to race down the ice path, all I could think about was finishing and all I could hear was Tiff cheering me on!

I got to the finish. ‘’I did it’’, I said! I Felt proud of myself for giving it a go.

Griff’s point of view

‘‘Oh dear’’, I was still on the chairlift and it was my turn to race. Classic me. I pushed past everyone straight to the front of the line and before I knew it I was off. My heart was pounding like thunder. My Mum was cheering ‘’go Griffy go’’...I completely ignored her. As I came out of the shoot everyone was there to congratulate me. Everyone one was proud of me, especially Miss White, she wobbly filmed me as I raced. It was a relief to have it done and go and have fun free skiing and throwing snowballs.
