Halberg Games 2021

In the holidays I went up to Auckland to compete in the Halberg Games 2021. I represented Canterbury in swimming and athletics.

My swimming events were 10m freestyle and I won that one, 25m freestyle, 10m mixed kick, and 25m mixed kick. It started raining at the swimming but that made the water warmer but my body was freezing and I was cramping but I wanted to finish my races for my team's points.

On Saturday I did Athletics and the events I did were a 100-metre sprint, 50m sprint, 400m, long jump, discus and shotput. I won my 100m, 50m, long jump and shot put and discuss and 400m but I was the only 8-year old that did the 400m.

We stayed at King's College and the beds felt like prison, but the food was amazing.  They had the best hot chocolates ever. My friend Emerson and I had one at breakfast and dinner.

The proudest moment for me was finishing my 25m freestyle with Mr Incredible (Kane) swimming with me, the definition of loud is Kane. You can hear him laughing from a mile away, he is amazing, kind, and of course incredible.

I got to fly with some of my team to Auckland and some of them back to Christchurch, I was really hyped when I got home. I am very lucky to get to be a part of Parafed Canterbury and now I am on their swim team.
