One Mother to Another Charity Boxes for Hospital Staff
The Challenge Team combined with a local charity 'One Mother to Another' to make 400 gift boxes for Christchurch hospital staff.
One way we have been able to help following the events of Friday 15th March was to decorate gift boxes for the well deserving staff at Christchurch Hospital. The idea came from Christina Buckland, a parent at Clearview who wanted to put together a range of goodies to help boost the morale of the team at the hospital. Donations of yummy treats flooded in and Christina wanted to have the boxes decorated and personalised before loading them with treats. Our students eagerly engaged in the task of designing and painting the boxes and these were then sent to the hospital staff last Wednesday.
We have received many messages of thanks and gratitude from the hospital staff who really appreciated the time our children put into the amazing artwork. It was a great experience to have Wendy Petrie and One News visit us to film a segment for the news as well. Check out the news story here:
If you want to support One Mother to Another, you can purchase a cookbook from our school office or Rolleston New World. All proceeds from the cookbook will go towards helping this worthy charity make a difference.
