Message from the Principal

Rob Rush —

Kia ora Parents / Caregivers / Whanau

What a truly amazing evening our Twilight Picnic was last night.  The weather was warm, the sun was out and the mood was relaxed - a perfect way to come together informally and enjoy a picnic, a catch-up and some fine entertainment from our Kapahaka Group as well as a live band (Nightwatch).  Thank you very much to everyone who was able to make it along to this event, I hope you enjoyed it.  For us as a school, we relish the opportunity to connect with our families and the picnic was a perfect way to do just that.

Today, we have a special Service Award Assembly to acknowledge those students who have given up their own time throughout the year to make our school a better place.  We will be presenting certificates for service to the Library, the Cafe, Peer Mediators, Road Patrol, Kaitiaki, Library, Choir and Sport.  We value having these opportunities available for our children it's a pleasure to see them being thanked/acknowledged for their passion and commitment.

We have a big day planned for next Wednesday as we have three end of year assemblies to celebrate the 2020 school year and to present achievement awards.  The times for each assembly are:

  • Year 1-4 Assembly - 9:15am
  • Year 5-7 Prize Giving - 11:00am
  • Year 8 Graduation and Prize Giving - 7:00pm

You are warmly invited to attend and be part of these special assemblies.

2020 has been a year to remember, a year full of disruption and stress for many people, but we have still achieved so much and I couldn't be prouder of our staff and students for the way they have adapted to the many challenges we have had to face as a school.  It's an honour to work at Clearview Primary and to play a small part in educating your children. I value the support I get from our Leadership Team and Board of Trustees. We have a special place of learning here and I'm grateful for the people we have in our big Clearview whanau.

End of Year Reporting

By the end of this week, you will have received a written General Comment from your child's teacher - this will be posted via Linc-Ed  Hero.  Progressions for Maths, Reading and Writing are also being updated this week which will show the progress your child has made since last term.  New learning goals will be set for your child early next year with their new teacher and these will be available for viewing then.  If you need a reminder about how to log into your Hero account, click here for directions.

Finally, I would like to wish you a safe and restful holiday break and very much look forward to re-connecting with you again in the new year.  Take care and Merry Chrsitmas!
