Update from the Board of Trustees

Ngaire Shepherd-Wills —

The Board of Trustees has held their first meeting for 2019. It's been great to see the students, teachers and families have such a positive start to the year.

The Board reviewed student achievement data from 2018. Tracey Young, Associate Principal, shared the innovative teaching and learning programmes that are supporting students.  It was particularly interesting to see the progress students had made with the Clearview competency of collaboration. Collaboration has been identified as one of the key skills our children will need in the future by the World Economic Forum.

We also looked back at some of the projects that were completed in 2018. These included increased shade areas, outdoor seating, double glazing and asbestos removal from the prefabs. Our school is looking terrific and as Rob outlined in the last newsletter, we really appreciate local families keeping an eye on the school and reporting any inappropriate behaviour to the police.

The governance role of school boards has been highlighted in the Tomorrow's Schools review. You can read more about this and complete a survey about the significant recommendations made in the review.
