Active Autumn

Clearview and SDC —

Active Autumn is an initiative by the Selwyn District Council - this is kicking off again in 2019 for the month of May. This yearly campaign is designed to maintain the enthusiasm for families that are currently using active modes and to encourage those that need some motivation to get moving. The benefits of getting your school community involved are measureable in terms of congestion reduction at the school gate as well as physical and mental wellbeing in your learners.

What’s in the campaign this year:

· Walk or Wheels Challenge

Following feedback we have cranked up the prizes and have one scooter per school to be won along with a new helmet. The same format will run for entry with ten days of travel earning an entry into the draw however there is less admin and delay in awarding prizes with the draw taking place at school.

· Colouring Competition

We have a great new colouring comp with new helmets and bells as prizes. Learners have to come up with their own road safety message as part of their entry so would be great to see them displayed at school for all to have a read and see what our children perceive to be road safety issues.

From Tuesday next week, our Competency Captains will be in the playground (central courtyard of school) from 8:30am - 9:00am, ready to stamp cards.  Once they have received 10 stamps on their card, they will then deposit their card into the box in the office.

Good luck and get active!
