At midnight on Monday, our country took another step forward by moving to Alert Level 1. It seems like such a long time since we have operated without major restrictions and this week we have returned to a more familiar school routine which has been so good.

There has been such a positive buzz around our school this week, the sun has been shining each day, our students and staff have been getting outside to enjoy it and sport even returned for our Year 5-8 students.

Once again, I want to thank you all sincerely for your ongoing support and understanding throughout this term as we have had to navigate constant change and adjust our practices based upon health professionals and MOE advice.

There are still a few things that we will continue to focus on as we move forward.

We still ask people to stay home if they are sick.
We will continue to regularly wash and dry hands, sneeze and cough into elbows.
Soap, water and the ability to dry hands is provided in bathrooms.
We will be regularly disinfecting shared surfaces.

Throughout the lockdown and distance learning period, we noticed a number of things about what worked well and what we could have done differently. We can take many lessons from the experience and there is potential to make a few changes to what onsite learning might look like in the future.

In order for us to get a deeper understanding, we will be asking for you to share your perspective with us, to tell us your story of how you found the distance learning period. We want to get the perspectives from Parents/Caregivers, Students and Staff via an on-line survey. More information about this will be shared within the next couple of weeks. We would really value your input so please watch out for this.
