On Monday the 15th of May 2017, the ribbon was cut.  Clearview citizens cheered as the new senior playground was finally finished.  The opening ceremony acknowledged the hard work of the many groups involved in the collaborative project including the Clearview PCG, Board of Trustees, our senior students, Mr Rush and the playground design team PS Park Supplies.

In a recent interview, Mr Rush told us about how the need for a new playground and the collaborative design came about.  He was looking out of his office window one day and saw so many children trying to play on the senior playground.  The area was crowded and wasn't challenging our senior students as much as it could.  He decided then that we needed to look into a new playground that was suitable for older students.

Mr Rush along with Mrs Hawley (PCG) and Mr McDonald (Challenge Team Leader) spoke with some Year 7/8 students about the design options.  Our new playground is a two designs in one.  This group even challenged the designers to think creatively, with the students wanting to combine the fort idea and the circular climbing challenge.

Bria and Caleb spoke on behalf of the Clearview students and thanked the many groups involved for their support with the playground project.  The playground is for our Year 5 - 8 students who want to challenge themselves to try something new.  The idea is for students not to touch the ground when making their way around the circular climbing structures.  We think the new playground is amazingly challenging, colourful and popular!
