Canterbury Hockey Tournament
Last Thursday a group of nine Year 5 & 6 students travelled to Hagley Park to take part in the Canterbury Hockey Tournament. It was a great day and the children played well throughout the tournament.
They started confidently and won their first game. However, their next few games offered tough competition with a run of losses. After lunch the students gave it their all and worked hard as a team to win their next few matches. The children were very excited to get through to the next round where they played Hillview School to decide on the fifth and sixth places. It was a very close match with a good effort from all involved but unfortunately Hillview won by one goal.
A very big thank you to Kylie Shipley and Rachel Hill who worked hard as the team coaches and referee, as well as providing transport. Congratulations to all the students in the team for placing sixth out of fourteen teams.
