It's once again time to develop the Clearview Primary Strategic Plan. This will provide the focus for the next three years. The BOT is currently seeking your voice to ensure the plan reflects the aspirations and needs of our community.

Our Kororā o Mārama is now complete and has been taken away to be re-introduced to all of its friends who have been out at other schools across Canterbury. He will then be taken to sit at Rolleston New World to become part of the penguin sculpture trail.

The process of assigning students to 2021 classes will begin early next term. Read on to learn more about the procedure we use to place students into homebases and to learn how you can have input into this process.

All zones are learning two dances and we have lots of new steps each session to remember!

Last term our Inquiry focus was ‘Change’. The children designed and built a model house for a bear, that required selecting and using a variety of appropriate materials that could withstand rain.

During Term 3, the students in the Matatea team designed enrichment objects for animals at the SPCA and Orana Park.

Active Selwyn is an initiative by the Selwyn District Council - this is kicking off again next week and will run for 4 weeks, finishing at the end of Week 5 which is Road Safety Week. This campaign is designed to maintain the enthusiasm for families that are currently using active modes and to encourage those that need some motivation to get moving. The benefits of getting our school community involved are measurable in terms of congestion reduction at the school gate as well as physical and mental wellbeing in our learners.

We have been working behind the scenes during year to get many of the operational tasks completed, and now ready to move forward with our fantastic new committee group – aka you!

Congratulations to our brave and selfless Madi from Simba Zone who has raised a whopping $3,860.00 for the Child Cancer Foundation.

This including Sinead from Copperhead Road who donated her time this afternoon and Grace's class for their cheers and love. We think Grace looks awesome with her new 'do and Dad joined in with a shave done by Grace herself.

Selwyn Hawks Basketball Club host the miniball competition in terms 1 & 4 each year. With the circumstances around Covid-19 term 4 miniball 2020 will only be a 4 week competition as that is all we can fit in with Primary Comp spilling into the term. We will hopefully go back to business as usual 2021 if there aren't any unforeseen changes in circumstances.
