Tuesday Weekly Competitive Winter Sports

Dear Parents / Caregivers

We are pleased to advise you that your child has been selected to represent Cobham Intermediate at the Weekly Winter sports competition held at various venues during term 2 and 3. Students will be travelling by bus, departing from school at 12.55pm. Games begin at 1.45pm and should conclude by 2.30pm approx., hopefully allowing students to return to school by 3.00pm. There are 9 rounds of competition (with 3 postponement dates) **Two years ago we played all 12 weeks due to weather being the best in history** this year the following dates are:

May 15th start – August 14th

Hockey – Nunweek Park

Squash – Squashways Sockburn

Table Tennis – Table Tennis Arena (Blenhiem Road)

Soccer B and C Grade (C and D team) – Nunweek

Soccer A grade and Girls (Girls, Boys A and B team)- South Hagley Park

Rugby – South Hagley Park

Netball – Netball Courts South Hagley Park

Teams are attached at the bottom of this article.

Should weather or grounds not be suitable, games will be cancelled and if necessary the draw adjusted. Payment

Each player is required to contribute $55 towards the transport costs for this competition. Payment options;

· Cheque (payable to Cobham Intermediate)

· Direct credit / internet banking to 03 - 1705 - 0007063 – 00

(Please put CHILD’S NAME followed by T2 W SPORT as the reference).

Please make payment to the office no later than Friday 4 May. If payment isn't made by this date we will have to pull your child from the team until the payment is made. If you need to talk to the office about then please do so and they can talk you though options.

We encourage parents to come and support your child and his / her team if you are able to.

Uniform

All competitors are required to wear the correct school P.E. / Sport uniform (Red shirt and and blue shorts) unless sports related gear is issued as specified below.

Rugby – Rugby tops issued, mouthguards (own purchase) boots and red socks

Hockey – PE uniform, shin pads, Sticks, mouthguard, red socks

Netball – PE Uniform unless team allocated uniform

Squash – PE Uniform

Table Tennis – PE Uniform

Soccer – PE Uniform, Shin Pads, Boots, Red socks
