Cobham Intermediate at The World Scholar’s Cup

The World Scholar’s Cup in Christchurch.

Each year thousands of students on five continents participate in the World Scholar's Cup.  The goals are to motivate students of all backgrounds to discover new strengths and practice new skills and to inspire a global community of future scholars and leaders.

This global event was held for the first time in Christchurch at St. Andrews College over two days (Sunday 1st and Monday 2nd of July). Over the course of two days the students took part in events such as the Scholar's BowlCollaborative Writing, Scholar's Challenge and Team Debates.

Cobham Intermediate was represented by two teams-one each from the Accelerated and Enrichment  (A&E) Year 7 & 8 class.

Anna Walker, Georgia Dann and Timothy Parker made up the Year 8 team and Ryan Croy-Mansbridge, Tia Bella-Fasi and Caitlyn Waddams made up the Year 7 team. The two teams were accompanied by Mr. Sebastian John and Mr. Brenton Jackson.

It was an amazing experience for all concerned with the students having a chance to go to the next stage of the event to be held in Melbourne.
