Cobham wowed audience with their amazing Show Quest performance!

On Monday 20th May, 87 Cobham students represented our school in the Christchurch Show Quest competition at the newly opened Town Hall.

Over a term’s worth of work went into creating the performance, which was an eight minute long dance and drama filled piece. Our performance focussed on the major issue of declining native bird numbers, as we followed the journey of the kākāriki karaka, the orange-fronted parakeet. It explored the threats of our beautiful birds, as well as the current practices that are in place to ensure our precious taonga do not become extinct. Our performance encouraged the audience to consider the impact we all have, and how we can help with the repopulation of our native birds.

The talent, dedication and passion for performing arts was evident by all 87 of the students. Check out some of the incredible photos of the day and night on the Show Quest facebook page that proves this!

We are so very proud of you all! Go Cobham!
