Whole School Weekly Winter Sport

Courtney Ross —

For 12 weeks during Terms 2 & 3, the whole school participates in our winter sport programme. Read here to find out more!

During Terms 2 & 3 on a Tuesday afternoon our Weekly Winter Sport Programme will be taking place. During this time, the whole school will be involved with sport. Students will either compete in a competitive winter sport (trials are currently underway), or will be involved in our Non-Competitive Sport Programme. We are excited to introduce some new and exciting activities for students, as we endeavour to cater to a wide range of skills and interests.

About

For our Weekly  Sport Programme, we have four different categories of activities, which are as follows:

  1. Competitive Winter Sports - students trial and are selected for these teams (trials concluded on 2 April, to be announced 12 April).

  2. Paid out of school options - Non-competitive Programme

  3. Paid in school options - Non-competitive Programme

  4. Free in school options (some of which involve going to Jellie Park and/or within the community) - Non-competitive Programme.

The Winter Sport Programme runs for a total of 12 weeks commencing on Tuesday 14 May. Our non-competitive sport programme is broken up into two 6 week blocks, meaning students have the opportunity to be involved in two different options. Students are not allowed to do the same activity twice.

Round 1: May 14 - June 18

Round 2: June 25 - August 13 (excluding school holidays).

**IMPORTANT - Whole School Must Complete**

All families must fill in the Google Form, which is linked below and has also been emailed out, to enter your child into our non-competitive sport programme. On this form, you will need to fill in your child’s details and include their three choices of sporting options in order of priority, as indicated on the form. Please do this alongside your child - students are not to do this themselves. Forms are due no later than 3pm on Friday 12 April.

Students will participate in two different activities, however, the number of spots available in each activity is limited, so for this reason, we do ask that the third option is indicated. While we will do our best, we cannot guarantee all students will get both of their preferred options. After the closing date of the Google Form (Friday 12 April) and we have confirmed the allocated spots in each activity, you will receive an email stating which sports options your child has been entered into. Your child’s options are not confirmed until you receive this email. If you require a hard copy of the forms/information, please contact your child's classroom teacher.

If your child is selected in a Cobham competitive winter sport team, they will compete for this team during Tuesday sport time. They will automatically be withdrawn from the non-competitive programme.

Please read all of the information provided carefully before filling in the google form. This is due no later than Friday 12 April at 3 pm.
