Cobham Science Fair 2017

Annie Bowker —

Another successful Science Fair. Well done to all.

Those of you who were able to visit the Science Fair would no doubt have been impressed by the depth of investigative skills and processes carried out by students, as they sort to develop their hypothesis and seek solutions to the problems they had identified. The presentation of the exhibits was of a high standard and the range of topics was wide and varied.

The Fair provides a purpose for students to learn correct scientific research procedures and to cover the Science Curriculum strand, Investigating Science.

Thank you to my team of judges - Nicky Tudor, Tony Lane and Alice Foote (science teacher Avonside Girls’ High School- standing in for Veronica Noetzli who is on leave) for their work. A number of exhibits have been awarded 1st prize and the exhibitors will have their work on display at the Canterbury/ Westland Science Fair later in Term 3.

Below is a list of those awarded prizes. Congratulations to them and also to all who put so much effort into making the fair a celebration of Science at Cobham.
