Wow, what a race! Two teams from Cobham, Vaughan Rayner & Viktor Telford, and Ben Smith & Antony Keith, had a great day at the Huxster Mountain Bike Race at McLeans Island on Thursday 26th October. 

The race was run over two days, and Cobham was on day 2. A team of two took turns to do one lap of a 5km course each for as many laps as they could in the allotted time. They had to pedal as hard as they could to get through the forest and experienced very strong winds in an exposed part of the track. Soon after the race started, the duration of the race time was reduced from 3 hours to 1 hour due to the gusty wind and potential hazards of falling trees and debris. 

Both teams, despite being only year 7, did extremely well and made the top 10 in the Male year 7/8 category!

Results: 

Ben and Antony - 4th Y7/8 Male, 4th Y7/8 Overall

Vaughan and Viktor - 9th Y7/8 Male, 11th Y7/8 Overall 

* Male - 90 teams, Overall - 120 teams
