Science badges at Cobham.

Annie Bowker —

Students at Cobham extend their interest in science by completing science badges.

The science badge scheme administered by the Science Award trust is designed to promote students’ interest and participation in science. Students can choose from a total of 29 badges. The activity sheet for the badge is purchased for $6.00. Students then choose activities to complete 20 stars per sheet. The class teacher marks the sheet and once it is completed Mrs Bowker awards the badge and certificate which is presented at assembly.

Students who were awarded a 1st or Highly Commended at our Cobham Science Fair are eligible for the Investigation badge. They have followed to a high standard each step of the scientific method of investigation.

New Reward Badges- This was the brainchild of our very own 2015 year 8 Lydia Robinson. Her idea was to add an incentive for students who have completed a number of badges. This was adopted by the trust and new star badges are awarded as follows: Bronze ( 5 badges ), Silver

( 10 badges ), Gold ( 15 badges ). Well done to Jack Prebble who is the first 2016 recipient of the Bronze star.
