Congratulations To Our Cobham Scientists

Annie Bowker —

Over the weekend of September 9-10th the Canterbury Westland Science Fair was held at Ara. Congratulations to our prize winner listed. What an outstanding result for Cobham Intermediate. We had 40 exhibitors entered and in total there were 250 exhibits from Year 7- Year 13. Thank you to all the families who supported the students to reach this level. My thanks also to Miss Noetzli for assisting on the day and continuing to encourage our Cobham students with their science interests.

Once again Cobham took out the prestigious Ecan prize with Thimeth winning this for the second consecutive year. He will now go to a regional final and compete for the Wrybill Award. We wish him well. Also to Anna for being placed 2nd in the Ecan category and for winning the Zonta prize. Cobham has won this prize several times and as part of this a totara tree is awarded to be planted at school. It is also of note that Max received 3rd best exhibit in the fair. This is no mean feat given that he was up against students at senior high school level.
