On Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th four teams competed in a Kāhui Ako esports challenge.

On Thursday the yr 8 esports leaders were part of a team that managed and ran a competition for year 5/6 students at Harewood School. This experience was a great added extra to the work they are currently doing at school.

On Friday we have four teams competing against other schools in our Kāhui Ako. The competition was fierce and the pressure to perform was high. Our teams showed a great deal of enterprise and teamwork. All the practice and effort came to bear and one of the year 8 teams came away with a teamwork award and were close to taking out the top spot. 

While we were at our competition the host school had a tv studio set up and some of our students were interviewed by the host school's media students. They were excited to get their time in the limelight. 

Lots more opportunities await for learning how to compete, build teamwork skills, and practice under pressure. Let the gaming begin!
