Canterbury Summer Sports Tournament,

Tuesday 5 December, 9.00am – 3.00pm

Dear Parents / Caregivers

We are pleased to advise you that your child has been selected to represent Cobham Intermediate in the Canterbury Summer Sports Tournament.

The sports are being played at the following venues.

Cricket, Softball and Touch rugby – South Hagley Park

Tennis – Wilding Park

Beach Volleyball – Pioneer Stadium (outdoor courts)

Golf –TBC

Your child will require the following items:

▪ Cobham Sports/PE uniform – (Touch singlets handed out for touch players)

▪ Hat and sunscreen

▪ Lunch and large drink

▪ Equipment if required, e.g. cricket gear, golf clubs (One per team needed), Softball glove if you have your own.

Rules and draws for the sports can be found on www.primarysportscanterbury.org.nz.

Touch, Volleyball, Softball and Cricket students will travel to and from Hagley Park and Pioneer Stadium. The bus will depart from Cobham Intermediate at 8.00am to allow time for drop offs at the various venues. Please ensure that your child is at school by 7.50am and assembles in the hall with their coach. Games start at 9.00am and should be completed no later than 2.45pm. Students are expected to return to Cobham by 3.20pm.

Thank you for the parents who have volunteered to support the Tennis and Golf Teams. The parents below will be transporting the students to and from plus managing them on the day.

All sports must report in at their respective venues by 8.45am. Games begin at 9.00am

In case of postponement/cancellation, details will be available on the Primary Sports Canterbury website listed above. Alternatively, if time allows, we will post a notice on our school website, www.cobham.school.nz click on the “Sports” icon in the top right-hand corner of the homepage.

PAYMENT

The cost for this event is $10 per individuals involved in Touch, Volleyball, Softball and Cricket. $7 for tennis players for team fee. No fee for Golf. Please pay before 2nd Dec.
