Rm 24 Camp to Arthur's Pass

Room 24 experienced an awesome camp in the rough but beautiful terrain of Arthur's Pass last week.

The weather was outstanding on Day 1 of camp. We made our way towards Arthur's Pass and enjoyed a leisurely morning tea at Springfield. Once we got to camp we enjoyed orienteering and walking up to the Devil's Punchbowl. The waterfall was amazing definitely worth the 300 steps we had to climb!

Day 2 involved a beautiful 4-hour walk along the Arthur's Pass walkway. We learnt all about the flora and fauna from Gemma our guide. After this walk, we did a sensory trail which was scary but fun. This involved us being blindfolded and walking along a rope for 20 minutes not knowing what the terrain was going to be like.

The third day was amazing - we completed a 6-hour walk up the Bealy Spur track.  We were all really proud of completing this track as some of it was very steep. The views were incredible and well worth the longevity of the walk! That night the rain started, huge BIG rain. The rain continued all through the night and all the next day.  After a morning of fun team building games the next morning we headed home. We were lucky to get out as they closed the road that afternoon.  It was a great camp - a great way to end out Year 8 year together.
