Last Chance - Planning for 2024

Thank you to everyone who completed our Google Form with information for 2024. This information is extremely helpful as we place learners in classes for 2024. We are extending the deadline for your feedback until the end of this week - Friday 27 October. If you haven't already, please provide us with information via this link to the Google Form. It is vital that we have this information as we take it into account when planning classes and selecting teachers who are best suited to meet the needs of each learner. We also aim to ensure that learners have a range of friends with them in their new class. As we did in 2023, we will be communicating class placements to families and whānau later in the term. We will also be providing an opportunity for learners to spend some time with their 2024 class and teacher towards the end of Term 4.

Vex Scrimmage

On Saturday, College Street Normal School Robotics had 9 teams attend the VEX IQ Tournament 6 at Palmerston North Girls High. All of our teams and their robots competed with and against other robots to get the highest score. In the finals, 7 out of the 10 teams were from CSNS with teams 2223E CSNS PRIME and 2223M CSNS HECTIC winning in a tie breaker. Thanks to all the whānau who came along to watch and support! A massive thank you to Mr R for all the time and effort he puts into our robotics programme. Your knowledge and expertise is greatly appreciated.

After School Pick Ups

I understand the Kiss and Go area on College Street can be extremely busy during afternoon pickup; however, it is vital that everyone is patient and uses this are correctly! A reminder that u turns are not to be permitted on College Street. Please use one of the side streets to turn down rather than trying to do a U turn at this busy time.

Can you also please contact the office if you have organised for your child to meet you outside the dairy after school each day. It is very important that we know which learners are to remain with the duty teacher and which learners are meeting parents, caregivers or whānau in a different location. While I appreciate that you may organise to meet your child in a different location, our advice is that waiting with a duty teacher after school in the designated areas is the most suitable option for our learners. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Rippa World Cup

On Friday, 45 learners from College Street Normal School attended the Manawatu Rugby RIPPA Rugby World Cup. Our teams represented England, Chile, Romania and Samoa and our kids had a blast playing RIPPA! A huge thank you to all the coaches and supporters who came along.

Disco

A reminder that our Parent Teacher Association is running a Trick or Treat themed disco in the College Street Normal School hall on Thursday 26 October. The whole school is welcome to attend the disco from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. Entry will cost $4 and tickets can be purchased on the evening. If you are planning to purchase tickets on the evening please bring cash to make the process faster. There will be a photo booth, face painting, hot food and party snacks available to purchase throughout the evening. Our PTA discos are always fantastic events and you won't want to miss Thursday evening!
