Important Parent Notices

Mrs Hayes —

We value our partnership with our parents and appreciate working together for your children's success.

ALL PARENTS PLEASE REPORT TO THE OFFICE

Parents are asked to please report to the College Office with any deliveries or notices for their children. Our health and safety policy does not permit people who are not signed in to enter the school grounds. The office staff will be happy to arrange for school lunches, sports gear or messages to be delivered; or to sign parents in and let the teachers know they are coming.

OBAN STREET PARKING

Traffic on Oban Street is very busy before and after school and everyone is asked to be respectful in order to keep our students and staff safe. The parking limit is 5 minutes before 9am and after 2.30pm, and all other road markings must be adhered to, especially not parking on yellow lines. Arranging to meet children at Roslyn or further down Highgate at Spelt could be a more convenient alternative to consider.

GUIDELINES ON PARENT/GUARDIAN PHOTOGRAPHY AT SCHOOL EVENTS

Photographing your child during school events is a natural thing to do and reinforces positive messages to your child that their efforts are important. However, not all parents wish to have images or video of their children posted online. This could be for cultural, religious, custodial or personal reasons and, as a school community, we need to respect their wishes.

Guidelines:

  • As part of Columba College’s community parents and guardians are asked to model good digital citizenship. Remember, if you don’t have permission, don’t post.
  • Columba College cannot monitor the imagery taken by parents/guardians at school events.
  • Parents/guardians are welcome and encouraged to photograph their own child(ren) at Columba College events for family use at home.
  • To protect the privacy of others, photographs of children other than their own cannot be shared online without the permission of the parent of guardian of children other than their own in the image or video.
  • These guidelines also apply to students taking photos/video at College events.
  • Parents/guardians and students will be reminded of this policy via the College newsletter at the beginning of every school year.
