South Island Secondary School Swimming Championships
Columba swimmers competed this past weekend in a fiercely competitive South Island Secondary School Swimming Championships.
Ashlea Law, Poppy Henderson and Emma Morton attended the South Island Secondary School Swimming Champs over the past weekend and came away with some incredible results:
Ashlea Law - 16yrs female:
- 100m IM - 5th
- 50m backstroke - 6th
- 100m freestyle - 4th
- 100m backstroke - 5th
- 50m freestyle - 2nd
To make the day even more memorable, Ashlea was selected to compete in the girls 16 and over medley skins event.
Emma Morton - 15yrs female:
- 100m breaststroke - 5th
- 50m breaststroke - 8th
Poppy Henderson - 16yrs female:
- 100m freestyle - 3rd
- 100m butterfly - 3rd
Congratulations, Ashlea, Poppy and Emma - we can honestly say you are all very hard working athletes and you thoroughly deserve your successes. We would also like to acknowledge the parent help who assisted the girls in traveling and attending as their team manager; we appreciate you constant support of swimming here at Columba College.
We wish Poppy and Emma all the best for the upcoming New Zealand Secondary Schools Swimming champs to be held in Auckland 22nd-25th July.
