Year 8 is currently completing a topic titled ‘ Living Things’. We are busy investigating Entomology and Horticulture.

With the help of Des and Eric, our wonderful Columba Caretaker and Gardener, we established our very first Braemar Science Department garden plot over the summer. Every week since returning to school, students tend our small urban garden, learning about weeding and watering. It is surprising how much can be grown in a small space.

It is time for harvest. This season we have fresh cucumbers, snow peas and spring onions coming on. 

Cucumbers and peas made for a sweet refreshing snack for our morning tea.
