Chinese New Year

Ms I Ding —

2023 is the year of the rabbit. Those born in years associated with the Rabbit, specifically 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, and 2023, should have good fortune, patience, and prosperity in 2023, according to one Chinese horoscope.

Year 3 Chinese students made a Hongbao (the red envelope), drew rabbit pictures, and wrote 兔(rabbit in Chinese characters) to decorate their Hongbao.

Year 9 Chinese students did a “Chinese New Year Choice Board” competition in teams. Some teams made Chinese lanterns, made Chinese paper cutting, wrote Chinese New Year wishes in characters, and some teams made rabbit Chinese New Year cards.

Year 12 Chinese students learned how to play Majiang (the board game that Chinese families enjoy playing during Chinese New Year celebrations).
