An Official Welcome to International Students by Dunedin City

Ms C Shi —

Last Friday, our sixteen international students attended the Study Dunedin International Student Welcome at the Otago Business School. The event welcomed students to the city with representatives from mana whenua, Deputy Mayor Cherry Lucas, Study Dunedin, and other local stakeholders.

After the official welcome, all international students enjoyed morning tea and were able to mingle with other international students from different Dunedin schools, as well as representatives from the University of Otago, Dunedin City Library, New Zealand Police, Otago Sports Association, Dunedin Public Art Gallery, Study Dunedin and other associations.

We were delighted to have last year's International Prefect, Amber, visit us at the event. This was a great opportunity to get to know and connect with our growing international student community at the beginning of 2024.

This Monday we also welcomed our newest international student, Celina. Celina is a Year 11 student from South Korea. Before coming to New Zealand, she graduated from a middle school. Celina spent two months at Columba College in 2020. She enjoys dancing and playing badminton. She is looking forward to improving her English and making new friends.
