Year 5 and 6 Art Gallery Trip

Mrs Bridger —

On Wednesday 18 September the Year 5 and 6 classes attended a workshop at the Dunedin Art Gallery under the leadership of John Neumegen.

The children were privileged to be able to be part of a live "sculptural" performance using an array of tins which were used as drums by Artist in Residence from Tonga, Kalisolaite 'Uhila, who is a sculptural performance artist.

This was a very special introduction to the Art Gallery visit, which concluded with the children creating their own paper sculptures.

A special thank you to the parents who accompanied the students on this trip and to John, the Art Gallery Educator, for arranging this unique experience for us all.
