What an absolute joy it was to travel to Waihi this year to continue to interschool match up with Waihi School in our Netball exchange.

Waihi School has a total of 13 female students this year, and, after forming a netball team for just the second season Principal Alan Short was delighted to keep this exchange going.

The game was evenly matched and remained goal for goal throughout much of the first half. Encouraged by their winning performance last year, Waihi got off to a strong start and pulled away on the scoreboard during quarters two and three. Despite Columba going down, it was incredibly close and the sportsmanship shown by both teams was phenomenal.  

A great time was had by all, participating in what was a very positive sports exchange. A shared lunch was enjoyed by everyone to conclude this annual event. 

A massive thank you goes to our wonderful management pair of Lou Paterson and Sherrie La Hood for taking the team to Waihi. What a fabulous display of team spirit, skill, and competitive energy! We look forward to hosting Waihi again next year, here at Columba College.
