Since rugby became a sport at Columba in 2015, the talent and number of players interested in the sport has grown tremendously.

This year we have had a record level of interest and have been able to field a full team of 22 players, ranging in ability but continuing to learn, improve and have fun every week. Our coaches, Bob Sinclair and Mel Fowler, are extremely dedicated and fun coaches who have a passion for seeing the girls improve with each game they play. There has been consistent growth in rugby at Columba, and our 2019 Rugby team looked most promising, starting the season extremely strong. Every few weeks the team travel to Balclutha to play against the South Otago High School 1st XV. This is an awesome experience, allowing the team to grow a lot stronger together. Fun, inclusive, competitive, and strong. This is rugby at Columba College!
