2021 Columba College Golf Day Postponed

Mrs G Beardmore —

Recent community transmission of Covid-19 in New Zealand has forced a number of events on the school calendar to be postponed or cancelled, and Golf Day 2021 has now fallen victim to the impact of the pandemic.

Over the past 48 hours, the Columba College Sports Council has been forced to make the very difficult decision to postpone their annual Golf Day tournament. Set for the 10th September at St. Clair Golf Course, uncertainty around alert level restrictions and potential timeframes for a return to sport, has forced the Sports Council to reschedule their annual fundraising event until early 2022.

The Columba College Sports Council would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those teams who have registered for the tournament this year, the incredibly generous supporters in our community who have pledged to sponsor a hole or donate prizes and/or auction items for Golf Day, and to all those amazing people (both on and off the Sports Council) who have been involved in the planning and preparation for Golf Day 2021. Your support, encouragement, and drive to provide for our school fundraising venture has been hugely appreciated.

A silver lining to these unfortunate circumstances is that the Golf Day is now set to be held early in 2022 during Term 1. Traditionally held in mid-September, the new date may offer warmer weather and a greater number of golfers gracing the greens at St. Clair!

Once confirmation of a new date has been set, the Sports Council will inform our community so that you can help us spread the word! Many thanks for your ongoing support of Sport at Columba College.
