Senior School Mid-Year Examination/Assessment Week

Mrs L Piebenga —

All Senior School have an examination week during Week 6 of this term running from Monday 29 May to Thursday 1 June.

This is an opportunity for students and teachers to assess progress and learning to date and also to indicate to them areas needing further development prior to approaching final examinations in Term 4.

This is also an opportunity for students to become familiar with the examination format, language and level of expectation within their subject areas. Some subjects will be running assessment workshops in place of a formal examination as this is better suited to their subject area.

Any subjects taught at JMC will not be assessed during this week.  If students are independently able to attend their JMC class outside of their examination timetable, then they should do so.

Normal classes will not be running.  Students are deemed to be on Study Leave outside of examination times.  Full school uniform is expected to be worn to all examination/assessment sessions.

The examination timetable will be published very shortly.  However, with the ongoing disruptions of PPTA action, the assessment week may be modified.  Students in the Senior School should use the time, when they are rostered home, to revise earlier work in preparation for assessment week and also to deepen their understanding of that material.
