Academic Blues Awards for our outstanding 2022 results

Mrs L Piebenga —

Achieving an Academic Blue is a distinguished achievement. It was a pleasure to celebrate both our past and present students who achieved this accolade based on their 2022 academic results.

We are very proud of the significant academic achievements of our students and this week we were able to recognise and celebrate these in the awarding of Academic Blues.

Academic Blues are awarded to students who have achieved an overall Level Endorsement by gaining 50 credits or more at Excellence Level. Collectively, Columba College continues to excel in the academic arena and achieve well above national averages. In 2022 84.7% of our Level One students gained overall endorsement at either Merit or Excellence Level, 74.2% at Level 2 and 65.2% at Level 3. In addition to this, our pass rates were very rewarding with Level 1 at 97.6%, Level 2 at 97.1% and Level 3 at 94%.

Academic Blues are acknowledged at our school by both the swatch sewn onto blazers and the wearing of Academic ties. Students who have gained an Excellence Endorsement wear a blue tie with a thin green stripe. Students who are re-awarded an Academic Blue - Excellence Endorsement across two levels, wear a green tie with a thick blue stripe. Students who gain Scholarship as a Year 12 student, wear a green tie with a double white stripe.
