Ms C Hillier — Oct 22, 2020

Nora Paicu is continuing her work investigating development and hatch rate in birds.

She has Buff and Black Orpingtons and White Chinese Silkies incubating in the Braemar Science Department.

Students from Years 7-11 have been able to observe their development over the last two weeks. They are doing well and are due to hatch on Tuesday 27th October.

Here is an image from one of our candled eggs, you may be able to make out the blood vessels (dark lines) and the air sack (the light part at the top of the egg).

Also have a look at the reference guide we have to see their relative development.

We will post an update when they hatch and welcome visitors to meet the baby chicks.
